About

Collaboration

My research is actively positioned in applied settings to integrate findings with human-centered design, practitioners, and community partners. I partner with relevant professionals to utilize their expertise to guide and inform projects that are timely and locally relevant for social change.

Methodology

In my work, I take a mixed methodological approach- including focus group discussions, key informant interviews, quantitative surveys, and vignettes- to understand how the integration of science and religion informs health and mortality beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors relevant to outcomes of well-being.

Skills & Training

My background is in social work and psychological research. I have received training in Bystander Intervention and Alternatives to Managing Aggression. I have experience working in R Studio, Datavyu, LIWC (Linguistic Inquiry Word Count), SPSS, LaTeX, Bookdown, Qualtrics, Canvas, Salesforce, DonorDrive, Microsoft Office Suite.

Lab & Advisors

I work in the Imagination and Cognition Lab at the University of Texas at Austin with Dr. Jacqueline Woolley. The lab focuses on children's conceptual development of topics such as perceptions and beliefs around the development of supernatural reasoning.

I am also a member of the Cognitive Science of Religion Lab at Cal State University Northridge with Dr. Claire White. The lab studies supernatural agents, funerary practices, end-of-life care, and grief.

I'm from San Antonio, Texas and got my undergraduate degree from UT Austin in 2017. In 2022, I completed my master's thesis which examined risk perceptions of COVID-19 in 11 countries. When I'm not at school, I'm probably hanging with my dogs Avery (left) and Cholula (right), geocaching, traveling, doing yoga, or making funky earrings.
